TOM RENNEY ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF SCOTT SMITH AS PRESIDENT OF HOCKEY CANADA

Tom Renney announced that Hockey Canada’s chief operating officer, Scott Smith, has been appointed president and COO effective July 1, 2017.
Renney, who joined the organization as president and CEO in 2014, will continue to lead and set the direction for Hockey Canada in his role as chief executive officer. He said the move to promote Smith will allow the organization to more effectively deliver on its mandate to grow the game within Canada, and abroad.

Rogers Hometown Hockey Cheer Like Never Before

Hey Ottawa! Rogers Hometown Hockey wants to hear you Cheer Like Never Before!

What’s up for grabs?

Your team could win the ultimate hockey experience, including a Stanley Cup® Playoffs Viewing Party hosted by an NHL® Alumni in your very own hometown! Plus, get an on-ice hockey experience hosted by a surprise guest, meet and greet with NHL® Alumni and a surprise equipment package!

Here’s what you need to do:

•             Record a 10-30 second video of your teams cheer and share your video encouraging your team’s fans to vote for your cheer online. The top 5 teams with the most votes will be invited to take part in the festivities when the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour visits your town. The winning team in each town will be in the running to win an ultimate hockey experience.

Brad Smyth Clinics

The NHL Alumni Hockey Camps & Clinics is a youth development program designed to progress players (boys & girls) of all ages and skill levels

We provide a structured and energetic environment aimed at accelerating aspiring young hockey players' individual game to greater heights. Our bilingual camps & clinics will focus primarily on the following essential components of the game:
skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, body positioning, timing/hockey sense & on ice awareness. 

We will be running camps in January & February during PA Days, as well as March Break & throughout the summer.  Additionally, I am available for consulting with teams and private & semi-private lessons with individual players.

Passing of Gary Beech

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Beech.  For close to twenty years, Gary was the President of the City B League, then known as the ODMHL B

April 13, 1949 – November 23, 2016
On November 23, 2016, Gary bravely ended his 9 year battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. He will be forever loved and missed by his devoted and adored wife of 45 years, Brenda (Ascott), his children Todd (Lauren Faulkner) and Stacy (Brad Fagan), and his grandchildren Alexa and Jack, whom he was so proud of. He is survived by his brothers Brian (Marlene) and Warren, nieces and nephew, all of whom were blessed to have had him as a part of their lives. Gary was a friend and mentor to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Dr. Bence-Bruckler and her team at the Ottawa General Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 6 at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, (1 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa), from 6:30-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society .
