Speak Out Update

TO: ODMHA Council, District Chairs, Association Presidents, League Officials
FR: Brent Dick, V.P. Risk, Safety and Conduct Management
DT: November 4, 2010
RE: Speak Out

There have been a number of inquiries as to the online version of Speak Out being offered through Respect in Sport.
We are aware that this program exists, however, presently we do not offer this method of delivery. We recognize the importance of offering our membership various choices of delivery and continue to review its implementation in other Branches.
It’s important to note that we utilize revenues from the current in-class format to off-set the costs of other Branch Risk and Safety programs. This enables us to deliver these various programs at no cost to our membership. Under the current financial model with Respect in Sport’s online course, this would not be possible.
Until the ODHA fully endorses the online method of Speak Out delivery, our members are to continue with the in-class format.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
