Cambridge/Ottawa/Thunder Bay, Ont. – Team Ontario Men’s Team is proud to announce the staff that will lead the team at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta.

Darrell Woodley (Kitchener, Ont./Ontario Hockey League) has been hired as the Director of Operations with Jeff Jordan (Ottawa, Ont./ Kemptville 73’s and Kemptville 73’s U18 AAA) leading the team as Head Coach, and Steve Devine (Toronto, Ont./Toronto Marlboros Bantam) along with Darcy Findlay (Gatineau, Que./Nepean Raiders Jr. A and Nepean Raiders U18 AAA) and) serving as assistant coaches.

Woodley, the Director of Central Scouting for the Ontario Hockey League for nearly a decade, brings a wealth of knowledge to the Team Ontario Men’s Team executives. In addition to his work within the OHL, Woodley has been a great asset to Hockey Canada as a Regional Scout for the past five years working with Under-17 program. His responsibilities will include player selection and overseeing all team operations.

Jordan served Team Ontario Men’s Team diligently as Assistant Coach of the gold medal winning team from the 2015 Canada Winter Games where he was an integral part of the coaching staff. Currently the full-time head coach of both the Kemptville 73’s Jr. A (CCHL) and the Kemptville 73’s U18 AAA (HEO U18 AAA), Jordan has been recognized for his outstanding success as a two-time recipient of the U18 AAA Coach of the Year award, in addition to two league championships in his six-seasons coaching midget AAA hockey. Recognized by Hockey Canada for being High Performance 1 and High Performance 2 Certified, he has participated in the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence having led Team HEO to the Bronze Medal at the 2016 OHL Gold Cup.

“It is my goal to offer anything I can to help the 2019 Team Ontario roster prepare and execute the same way and once again bring the Gold Medal home to Ontario,” said Jordan.

Devine, a distinguished coach, is currently with the Toronto Marlboros in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, and has participated on the GTHL coaching staff for four years at the OHL Gold Cup. He has been recognized for his drive and dedication to success throughout the hockey world and is certified at both the High Performance 1 and High Performance 2 Coaching Level.

Findlay, Assistant General Manager and Head Coach of the Nepean Raiders Jr. A hockey team (CCHL) and the Interim Head Coach of the Nepean Raiders U18 AAA, is a recognized coach with a key focus on developing players. A former NCAA Div. I player at Bemidji State, he began his coaching career soon after and has risen through the ranks quickly, working Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence as a Guest Coach and Head Coach of Team HEO at the OHL Gold Cup in 2018.  He is certified at the High Performance 1 Coaching Level.

Woodley, with the support of the coaching staff, will be evaluating players throughout the start of the 2018-19 season with the final team being named in early January. Prior to departing for the tournament, a mini-camp will take place with all team members.
