Ottawa Sting Peewee AA team off to the Provincial Championships

Contratulations

The Ottawa Sting Major Peewee ‘AA’ team clinched the OEMHL ‘AA’ League Championship on March 22nd with a 3-2 win in the third overtime period of Game 7 against the Ottawa Valley Titans. In 2007-08 regular season play, the Sting finished in second place behind the Ottawa Valley Titans. The Ottawa Sting will represent the ODMHA at the Provincial ‘AAA’ Peewee Championships in Thunder Bay, March 31-April 05.

Under 16 Camp

The CJHL is pleased to announce a partnership with the ODMHA and the
Ontario East AAA League to conduct the first Under 16 Camp in the ODHA.
As a member of the ODHA, the CJHL is proud to work in close conjunction with
the elite young players in the branch. It is an example of the cooperation
between elite junior hockey and elite minor hockey in the Ottawa District.
While other groups are running camps outside the sanctioning of the ODHA,
ODMHA and Hockey Canada, this camp is the ONLY SANCTIONED UNDER 16 PROGRAM for the 1993 birth year player.

The camp is considered the pre-cursor to the entry level of Canada's Program
of Excellence and the Under 17 program. As a result of recent changes to the
Canada Winter Games (held every four seasons), each province shall send a
group of U16 players as opposed to U17 as in previous years.

Any 1993 player who has already registered for the CJHL Camp will
automatically be in the ODHA U16 as a part of the registration. This serves
the dual purpose of the U16 program, as well as providing CJHL teams with
the opportunity to evaluate these players for the new Bantam Protected
Process. 1993 players will play in a separate division, but in the same
venue to maximize opportunity and exposure.

At this time we encourage all 1993 birth players wishing to be enrolled in
the ODHA Under 16 Camp to register through the CJHL Prospects Camp and note
1993 in the comments section. The website address is www.cjhl.on.ca. If you
are a Bantam AAA player, please mention this in the comments section as
well. If you wish to register bye-mail or phone, contact Alison Bergin at
the Bell Sensplex at or call her direct line at
613.599.0355
